The Guanacaste province of Costa Rica is known far and wide for its exotic beaches and lush sceneries. Lying 30 minutes along the Guanacaste coast from the more well known destinations of San Juanillo, El Ostional, and Nosara, Marbella is one of the province’s more laid back beach destinations. Marbella is a popular surfer's destination; this once sleepy fishing village is now one of the least secluded areas along the Gold Coast, as it is fast becoming a major tourist attraction.
Lying between Playa Manzanillo and Playa Ostional, the beautiful and picturesque town of Marbella is full of character and charm. The gorgeous Playa Marbella or Marbella beach with its stunning white sands and clear blue waters is within easy walking distance from town. The beach here is one of the best in the area for surfers, as it offers world class consistent surf breaks due to offshore winds. With these excellent conditions, it is no wonder that many local as well as foreign surfers come here on a regular basis. However, it should be noted that Playa Marbella is meant for the more experienced and skilled surfers, as the waves here can get pretty rough. The beach is normally quite quiet and is rarely crowded, making it ideal for the surfer who wishes to get away.
If you wish to go swimming or indulge in any other water sport activities, the beaches of Playa Manzanillo and Playa Azul are much better. Also, near by is the Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Ostional or the Ostional Wildlife Reserve, which houses an important nesting ground for the Ridley sea turtle in Costa Rica. This turtle refuge is the second most important of its kind in the country. The nearest large towns to Marbella are Santa Cruz and Tamarindo, which are at least an hour’s journey by bus. Marbella is also a great base camp if you wish to visit the historic Marino las Baulas de Guanacaste National Park close to Tamarindo, which is close by.

La Provincia de Guanacaste es ampliamente conocida por sus exóticas playas y sus esplendorosos paisajes. Se encuentra a 30 minutos del muy conocido destino de San Juanillo a lo largo de la costa Guanacaste, El Ostional y Nozara. Marbella es una de las provincias de mayor destino para el descanso. Sitio de gran oleaje, este dormido pueblo de pescadores es ahora una de las áreas apartadas y menos importantes de la Costa Dorada, pero se esta convirtiendo muy rápidamente en una de las atracciones turísticas de importancia.
Se encuentra entre Playa Manzanillo y Playa Ostonial, este pintoresco y bello pueblo de Marbella es característico y lleno de encanto. Con sus esplendorosas playas blancas y agua azul clara, Playa Marbella es muy fácil caminarla desde el pueblo. La playa es una de las mejores del área para los surfistas ya que ofrece una clase de rompimiento de oleaje de la mejor debido a los vientos que soplan a poca distancia de la costa. Con sus excelentes condiciones no cabe duda que muchos locales y turistas vienen aquí regularmente. De cualquier modo, Playa Marbella es mencionada por los mas experimentados y especializados surfistas.ya que sus olas son bastante picadas. La playa esta normalmente calmada y raramente se ve congestión convirtiéndola en el sitio ideal para los sufistas que quieren descansar.
Si usted quiere nadar o hacer otra actividad o deporte acuático se recomienda Playa Manzanillo o Playa Azul ya que son mucho mejor para esto. Muy cerca esta también el Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Ostonial o Reserva de Vida Salvaje Ostonial en el cual anida la tortuga acuática Ridley en Costa Rica. Este refugio de tortugas es el segundo más importante de este tipo en el país. Los pueblos mas grandes y cercanos a Marbella son Santa Cruz y Tamarindo, los cuales
están a más o menos una hora de viaje en bus. Marbella es también un gran sitio de camping si usted desea visitar el Parque Nacional Marino las Baulas en Guanacaste, Tamarindo, el cual esta muy cerca.
